At Kents Hill School, we are deeply committed to the wellbeing of every student. We understand that a supportive, nurturing environment is key to children’s academic and personal growth. That’s why we offer a range of pastoral care and wellbeing initiatives, tailored to meet the diverse needs of our children and their families.
Mental Health Support Team (MHST) Referrals
We work closely with the NHS Mental Health Support Team in Schools to provide students with support with a range of mental health needs in children. If a child requires additional support, we work in partnership with parents to make referrals to ensure that children receive the expert support and guidance they need.
Nurture Breakfasts
Our Nurture Breakfasts provide students with a calm, welcoming space where they can start their day positively. These sessions are run by our Pastoral Lead, Juliet Griffin and Fay Glover from our Pastoral Team. These sessions offer a light breakfast, free of charge, and a range of activities to foster a sense of belonging, helping students build confidence and friendships in a relaxed environment.
These sessions are by invitation only and are separate from our Wraparound Care provision.
Parental Support for Parents
We believe that supporting our children also means supporting their families. We offer guidance, workshops, and resources to help parents navigate challenges and create a nurturing home environment. We can also signpost to wider support or make referrals through Early Help.
St. Marks Meals
St. Mark’s Meals are a Milton Keynes based charity with a simple but vital mission – children should not have to go to bed hungry. At the school, we offer a range of simple meals, completely free of charge and no proof of need required, to anyone in need. The meals are long life, boxed and contain all that is needed to make a simple nutritious meal for a family of four. There are even options for those who may live in accommodation with no cooking facilities.
Please do email, call or pop into the school to speak to any member of staff in strictest confidence to choose a meal or two.
Anxiety and Behaviour Support
Understanding and managing emotions is a crucial part of personal development. We provide structured support for children experiencing anxiety or behavioural challenges, helping them develop coping strategies and resilience.
At Kents Hill School, we strive to create a safe, supportive community where every child can flourish. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about our pastoral and wellbeing support, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
